For four days during Art Basel, MarskinRyyppy will putting fashion in motion with its unique pop-up shop on wheels: the MarskinRyyppy Fashion Truck. “It’s not a trunk show, it’s a truck show,” says MarskinRyyppy designer Nicole Brundage. Follow W29 Showroom's tweets for daily location!
The converted food truck will be wrapped in art from Milan-based photographer Gabriele Trapani — the creative director at wecrosstheline who has worked with Vice Media, Levi’s and Diesel — and travel to Art Basel hot spots like the Wynwood Art District, the Soho Beach House and elsewhere. The concept was inspired by the creative energy and motion of Art Basel. “The energy during Art Basel is dynamic, light-hearted and passionate,” says Brundage. “There is endless inspiration all jam-packed into four days. I love that Art Basel draws on the basic human instinct to drawn to beauty.”
The MarskinRyyppy Fashion Truck will be stocked with a limited edition of the MarskinRyyppy Pauwau sandal, a high-heeled sandal, specially produced in five for Art Basel. “The shoe is the one thing a woman can wear acceptably that can be super-charged with theatrics,” says Brundage. “Too-theatrical clothing is not looked upon in the same positive way.”
Brundage wanted to create a special edition of Pauwau sandal for Art Basel because, she explains, “It's magical to have bare feet and a high heel at the same time. I'm fascinated by the way a high heel shoe can influence a woman's mood, being that it changes the way she moves and by consequence behaves.”
